Weekend trip to the New Forest

Very friendly staff. Due to these strange times, we had our temperature taken before entering the building. We could not fault the service and the food was some of the best pub food I’ve had. Stopped here for lunch on our last day in the New Forest and it was the best food we have had all week and the staff were very warm and friendly. Would highly recommend this place for food and location is perfect.

Lovely visit

We have been staying locally to the Royal Oak for the last three days. Apart from the lovely picturesque pub and lovely food that is always a massive attraction, I cannot tell you how impressed we have been with the service in particular the staff and how they have dealt with the reopening since COVID had shut them down. They have been friendly, efficient whilst at the same time adhering to the new rules and regulations imposed on them at this difficult time. Well done you guys you have made our visits so enjoyable and relaxing. Yet clearly this has increased your already busy workload. Thank you.

Picturesque pub – very safe with amazing food

We took a short break to the New Forest. This was one of the first pubs we have visited since lockdown. We had done our homework with regards to Covid precautions and the menu. We felt safe with the research we had done and so booked a table in the garden. We felt reassured when the owners called the morning of our visit to check we still wished to keep the booking.  We were not disappointed with our visit. We had a lovely table in the garden. All our temperatures were checked when we arrived and we sanitised our hands on entry. We all loved the food mixed with great staff in a relaxed atmosphere. So glad we supported a local business. The pub itself is well looked after and very picturesque with a lovely thatched roof and kept in good order. We will return again.

Howard’s Visit

Our first trip to a pub since lockdown. Had to prebook a table in the garden, greeted by Will the manager and shown to our table. The food is exceptional, started with Smoked Duck with marinated Peach, Leaves, Herb Croutons & a White Wine dressing. The main was Sea Bass with Crudhed Herby new pots, Crayfish, Roasted Butternut Squash, Rossted Asparagus & Saffron Sauce (Fabulous). The dessert was Strawberry Panna Cotta with Macerated Strawberries, Strawberry Meringue & Strawberry Gel . The service was excellent & will be going again soon.

Amazing service Julie and Chloe

We were greeted at the door by a lovely lady named Julie. She was so inviting that we all knew this was the right place to eat. We then had Chloe explain to us the soup of the day and the fish. The food arrived quickly and all of the staff were so nice and hospitable. Definitely a good place to go for a bite to eat after a long day. Thank you so much to Julie and Chloe for making our lunch that much better 10/10

Would DEFINITELY recommend it

Tried a takeaway from the Royal Oak tonight and would DEFINITELY recommend it – food on time, delicious and piping hot! Thank you!

Great tasting food
