The Royal Oak North Gorley is a historic thatched pub in the heart of the New Forest, serving Cask Marque-accredited ales and seasonal British food, with a warm welcome for all, including walkers, families, and dogs.

Our head chef and his team have curated a locally sourced menu offering a range of small plates, pub classics and signature dishes. Our menu features something for everyone! All while enjoying our selection of fine wines, local ales, handcrafted cocktails, or English Sparkling Wine.

With the New Forest on our doorstep, we have plenty of local suppliers. Our meat is sourced less than 3 miles away at Godshill from New Pastures Butchers. The coast is a short stone’s throw away, which means our fish is always fresh and line-caught where possible.

As well as our weekday menu offering lunch and dinner, we have our traditional Sunday Lunch. Experience the perfect Sunday at the Royal Oak with a roast that’s as comforting as it is delectable. Choose from perfectly cooked beef sirloin, melt-in-your-mouth roast pork or succulent roast chicken, all served with golden, crispy roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables bursting with flavour and rich, velvety gravy. A Proper New Forest Pub

Set in the heart of the New Forest, The Royal Oak North Gorley is a characterful thatched pub with a history stretching back to the 17th century, once a Royal Hunting Lodge serving those who worked and travelled through the forest. Today, it remains a true country pub, with ponies, cattle, pigs, and donkeys often grazing just beyond the door.

Inside, you will find a warm and welcoming space where good food, good drink, and good company come together. We serve freshly prepared dishes made with locally sourced, seasonal ingredients, blending traditional pub favourites with modern British cooking. Our menus are designed to be comforting, honest, and full of flavour.

In the warmer months, our garden is the perfect place to relax with a drink or a light bite, while in winter the pub offers a cosy retreat for hearty meals by the fire. Dogs are always welcome, and whether you are visiting for a quick pint or a long, leisurely lunch, you will be looked after with genuine hospitality.

Behind the bar, we take real pride in our cask ales and are proud to be a Cask Marque accredited pub, a nationally recognised sign of a well-kept pint. Alongside this, we offer a carefully chosen selection of fine wines, premium spirits, and over 18 gins. For those choosing not to drink alcohol, we also provide a thoughtful range of soft drinks and alcohol-free options, including alcohol-free gin, so everyone can enjoy their time with us.

We recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment. Bookings are welcome in our Bar and Restaurant areas.
Unfortunately, we do not take reservations for outside tables.

If your preferred time or date isn’t shown, it’s unavailable. We hold tables for 15 minutes
past your booking time. Let us know if you’re running late or need to cancel.

We have limited tables in our dog-friendly pub dining area. Water Bowls & Treats provided – We even have our Sir Woofchester’s Dog Menu available.
